The God of cricket and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj for his incredible performance against England in the second test of the first innings. Siraj led the pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and impressively led it by taking a six-wicket haul in the Edgbaston Test. He took charge of the bowling lineupfrom the front when everyone was busy talking about Bumrah not playing the second test, and he single-handedly destroyed the batting lineupof Ben Stokes's team. It seemed that he was quite disciplined with the new ball and hit the right areas to trouble the English batters and was successful in taking wickets on a flat track.

To which Sachin Tendulkar highlighted Siraj's hard work and consistency at Edgbaston, taking a six-wicket haul.

In his post shared on X, the legendary player wrote,

"The biggest change I've noticed in Siraj has been his accuracy and consistency in landing the ball in the right areas. His persistence has been rewarded with 6 wickets. Very ably supported by Akash Deep as well. Well done!"

Siraj went through a lot of criticism before the start of the second test, as he was questioned a lot for his performance in the first test at Leeds, and some raised questions about his place in Playing XI, but he silenced everyone with his incredible performance.

The 31-year-old maintained his calm in the pressure situation when Harry Brook and Jamie Smith made a partnership of 303 runs, which for a moment tilted the game to the English side. The pacer showed his game when he was handed a second new ball and dismissed the tailenders, including Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue, and Shoaib Bashir. These dismissals halted England's game and ensured India remained in the game.

The Indian legend also praised England's batting duo—Harry Brook and Jamie Smith—for their centuries, which had put the hosts back into the game.

He added,

"A special partnership between Brook and Smith, who were under pressure and counterattacked beautifully to bring England much closer to India's total than one would've expected."

Meanwhile, at the end of Day 3, India had scored 64 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, which increased their lead to 244 runs and put them in a strong position to achieve a series-leveling win. The Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket in the final session at the score of just 28. At the time of stumps, KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 28*, with Karun Nair on the other end on 7*.
