In IPL 2025, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a blistering century against Gujarat Titans, leaving Australia legend Steve Waugh stunned. Waugh said that such a performance at such a young age is unbelievable. Vaibhav's story is inspiring and he plays without pressure, which is his biggest strength.

In IPL 2025, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi did such a feat that even Australian legend Steve Waugh was surprised. Looking at this young batsman who scored a blistering century against Gujarat Titans, Steve Waugh said that he is still not able to believe that someone can perform so big at such a young age.

During a conversation with Anil Kumble and Robin Uthappa on JioHotstar, Steve Waugh said, "I saw his century live and was surprised. The way he was hitting sixes and how easily he was playing, it was exceptional to see. At the age of 14, he had no sense of pressure; he was playing freely. That's their biggest strength.”

Waugh also said that Suryavanshi's next challenge will be whether he can play consistently well with this form and freedom. He admitted that Vaibhav has talent, is mentally strong, and his story is also very inspiring. "I don't watch IPL much, but I glued myself to the TV to watch Vaibhav. Such players make the game worth watching.”

Regarding comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar, Waugh clearly said that it is not right to compare anyone with Tendulkar. He said, "Sachin scored a century at the age of 16 on a difficult pitch like Perth, which was a wonder. But no one could expect a century from a 14-year-old player in the IPL. It was totally unthinkable.”

The first match will begin on June 27. Now it has to be seen whether, after the IPL, he can show the same way at the international level.
