In the final round of IPL 2025, the battle for the playoffs has become even more exciting. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has written an email to the BCCI and made a big request, demanding that the match against Mumbai Indians scheduled to be played on May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium should be shifted to some other venue. The reason is – warning of heavy rain in Mumbai as the match is very important for Delhi Capitals. If the team wants to make it to the playoffs, then they will have to win both its remaining matches in every situation. In such a situation, if this match gets cancelled due to rain, then the path of Delhi will be very difficult. On the other hand, for Mumbai Indians, it is a golden opportunity to secure a place in the playoffs.

Parth Jindal has clearly stated in an email to the BCCI,

"Heavy rain is forecast in Mumbai and there is a strong possibility of the match being cancelled."

We have known for 6 days that it will rain on the 21st. In such a situation, it is requested that this match be shifted to some other place, as earlier the match between RCB and Hyderabad has been shifted from Bengaluru. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai for the next four days. During practice on Tuesday, rain knocked and the practice session of Delhi Capitals was interrupted. The rain started around 8 pm and the preparation of the players was also affected.

Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals

What happens if the match is cancelled?

If this match is canceled due to rain, then both teams will get one point each. This will give Mumbai Indians 15 points and Delhi Capitals 14 points. Then only after the final match will it be decided which team will reach the final four. At the moment, Mumbai Indians are fourth with 14 points and Delhi are fifth with 13 points. Now the big challenge before the BCCI is whether it will be able to shift the match in such a short time or not. It will be interesting to see if an alternative venue will be chosen, accepting Parth Jindal's request. On one side is the hard work of the player, on the other side there are natural obstacles. In such a situation, it is very important for the BCCI to make a decision soon.
