The Bharatiya Janata Party shared a clip of the 2007 T20 World Cup ball-out match, taking a dig at Pakistan. In this, the accurate bowling of Indian players and Pakistan's failure was linked to Pakistan's unsuccessful military counter-attack after Operation Sindoor.

On Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a dig at Pakistan by posting a clip on its official social media handle. They drew a symbolic connection between the spectacular victory over their arch-rivals in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the success of the Indian Army in the recent Operation Sindoor. The BJP shared a 31-second video clip of the league stage match between India and Pakistan, which ended in a tie during the inaugural T20 World Cup.

Indian players – Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa hit the stumps in the ball-out finish, while Pakistan players Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi failed in all their attempts. India won 3-0 in the ball-out, which later proved crucial in India's advance to the next stage of the tournament.

The BJP wrote on X, "Something like this was Operation Sindoor." From this post, they compared Pakistan's failed attempts in Pakistan cricket to their equally unsuccessful military counter-attack after Operation Sindoor.

The Super Over did not start in 2007, so T20 matches were decided by a ball-out, which is the same format as a football penalty shootout. Each team nominated five bowlers to hit the stumps without a batsman. The team with the most hits would win. In a high-pressure match in 2007, India's  bowlers bowled accurately while Pakistan failed completely.

The cricket-themed sarcasm comes days after India launched Operation Sindoor in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7. This was done to avenge the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people were killed. Operation Sindoor targeted nine terror camps linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in the hinterland of Pakistan and PoK.
