Team India registered a resounding 3-0 win over England in the ODI series, winning the last match of the series by a big margin of 142 runs. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, shedding light on the team's approach in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, stated that the team enjoys playing their natural game; sometimes they do go through failures, which is accepted as this is part of the game.

India's campaign for the Champions Trophy will kick off on February 20, Thursday, against Bangladesh. The most awaited match of the tournament between India and Pakistan will be played on February 23 and will be competing against New Zealand on March 2. The Men in Blue won't be traveling to Pakistan for the tournament due to political tensions and security concerns.

In the post-match presentation, Rohit said that there is freedom in the squad to go out and play the way they want. The team will continue to adapt the same strategy they adopted in the World Cup 2023.

Rohit Sharma
"There is a bit of freedom in the squad to go out there and play the way you want. The World Cup (2023) was a perfect example of that. We want to continue to do that. There will be times it will not fall in place, but that's okay."

Further, he said that there are some things that they are looking forward to, which he won't be explaining.

"Obviously, there are certain things we are looking at, and I am not going to stand here and explain those. It is our job as well to keep some consistency within the squad, and the communication is clear."
Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli

Before the Champions Trophy, the aggressive mindset of all the players was seen in the recently concluded ODI series against England. In the last game at the Narendra Modi Stadium, everyone got to witness the great knocks of Shubman Gill (112), Virat Kohli (52), Shreyas Iyer (78), and KL Rahul (40). All these contributions by the players turned out to be a big win for the team and a good sign for the upcoming tournament.

Shubman Gill was credited with the award of Player of the Series. He was the consistent player in all three matches of the series, scoring 87, 60, and 112 in the final match. After winning the award, he stated that this was one of the best knocks of him.

Shubman Gill
"I was feeling good. I think this was one of the better knocks. The pitch was a bit tricky at the start, so it's satisfying. There was a bit for the fast bowlers. It was seaming, so the chat was to rotate strike and not lose wickets in Power Play, build on the momentum, and take it from there."
