Varun Chakravarthy's Heroics Go in Vain as India Loses to England

India lost the third T20I against England at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium by 26 runs on January 28, Tuesday. India's leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy took a five-wicket haul in the game, but all his hard work went in vain after India's loss. The Men In Blue failed to chase the target of 172 runs set by England on the scorecard.

The Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Ben Duckett scored 51 runs off 28 balls, smashing seven fours and two sixes, but was dismissed by Axar Patel, while Liam Livingstone scored 43 runs off 24 balls, smashing a four and five sixes.

Varun Chakravarthy, talking about the loss, said,

"I can't complain because that's the nature of the game. There have been, even when I don't take 5 wickets, we might end up losing. I can't complain. My job is to just keep focusing on what I can do, and what I can perforn for the team. And that's all, that's all in my control."

Varun was awarded the 'Player of the Match' for his incredible performance in the game. He took the wickets of Jos Butler (24 runs), Jamie Smith (6 runs), Jamie Overton (0 runs), Brydon Carse (3 runs), and Jofra Archer (0 runs), giving away 24 runs.

Currently, India is leading the five-match T20I series by 2-1 and will be playing its fourth match on January 31, Friday, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
