Talking about his comeback, De Villiers said,

"Four years ago, I retired from all forms of cricket because I did not have the desire to play back then. Well, time has passed, and my younger sons have started playing the game. We are playing in the garden more and more often, and, it seems as if some kind of flame has been lit again. So, I'm going back to the gym and nets, and I'll be getting ready for the WCL in July. "
