Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary bashed out at India's current head coach, Gautam Gambhir, for India's performance in the recently concluded series against Australia. India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to Australia at 3-1. Gambhir's coaching didn't turn out to be the way it was imagined. Under him, India lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka, got whitewashed by New Zealand on home soil, and now lost the series to Australia.
"Gautam Gambhir is a hypocrite" - Manoj Tiwary
As a result, Tiwary criticized Gambhir for his coaching style and also went on to criticize his bowling coach, Morne Morkel, and assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar. He said,
"Gautam Gambhir is a hypocrite. He doesn't do what he says. The captain (Rohit) is from Mumbai, and Abhishek Nayar is from Mumbai. Rohit has been pushed to the forefront. There is no one to speak for Jalal Saxena. He performs well but keeps quiet."
Further, he said that Gambhir knows that no one will go against him and will follow his orders.
"What is the use of a bowling coach? Whatever the coach says, he will agree. Morne Morkel came from Lucknow Super Giants. Abhishek Nayar was at Kolkata Knight Riders with Gambhir, and the Indian head coach knows that he will not go against his instructions."
"Gambhir didn't guide KKR to the title single-handedly" - Manoj Tiwary
Tiwary also stated that nothing's good between Rohit and Gambhir, and this is the reason for the poor performance by the team. He also said that Gambhir alone did not guide KKR to the title single-handedly, but it was the contribution by everyone, including Jacques Kallis, Sunil Narine, and himself, but Gambhir likes to take all the credit.
"How will they work together? Rohit is a world cup-winning captain, while Gambhir led KKR to IPL titles both as a captain and mentor. Gambhir didn't guide KKR to the title single-handedly, as they all performed as a unit. Jacques Kallis, Sunil Narine, and I all contributed to the cause. But who took the credit? There is an environment and PR that allows him to take all the credit."
