Nitish Reddy's Family Expresses Happiness After His Maiden Test Century At MCG

The Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed his maiden Test hundred on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). By smashing his debut century against Australia, he became the first Indian player to score a century at No. 8 on December 28, Saturday. He made his family and whole country proud by scoring a century; his father was teary-eyed when he achieved this milestone. He played a tremendous knock of 114 runs off 189 balls, smashing 11 fours and a six.

The 21-year-old became the third youngest Indian to score a maiden Test hundred in Australia. The whole MCG ground clapped and cheered the player for his tremendous performance. Reddy's family showed their joy and excitement after their son achieved this milestone in Melbourne.

Nitish's father, Muthyala Reddy, said that he made the whole family proud, and he can't stop thanking him for that. He was seen with tears in his eyes, and he hopes that he can continue to hit more centuries in the future.

"I am really very proud of my son. He (Nitish) brought my family to this stage. He made our family very proud; I thank him for that. I know he is my son, but I can't stop saying thanks to him. My son made his debut century where legendary cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, and Ravi Shastri played here (Melbourne). As a father, I got tears in my eyes. I pray to God that he will hit more centuries like this in the future."

Reddy's sister Tejaswi said that everyone is very proud of him, and he made a promise to make him proud, which he did yesterday.

"We all are very happy and proud of him. He said that he'd make us proud, and he did it, and he showed it yesterday. We are speechless. It's his way of representing India. We respect our nation."

After that, Nitish's mother, Manasa, said that it was surprising for them to hear that Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar got tears in their eyes after watching their son.
