During the Gabba Test, India's bowler Akash Deep, batting at number 11, did such a feat, which the team will remember for a long time. During the Gabba test, India was under threat of follow-on, but the partnership of Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah rescued the team from the crisis. As soon asAkash Deep saved the follow-on with a boundary, there was a celebratory atmosphere in the Indian dressing room. Coach Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli did a high-five, while captain Rohit Sharma and the rest of the players jumped with joy.

While talking to reporters at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) before the fourth Test, Akash Deep said that he did not take the field with the intention of saving the follow-on. He said,

"When we come to bat in the lower order, the contribution of 20-30 runs also matters a lot. My focus was just on not getting out. By God's grace we were able to save the follow-on. ”

"When you save the game from such a situation, the whole team gains confidence. It was the same in our dressing room. Everyone was very happy and having fun, ” he said further.

Akshdeep scored 31 runs in 44 balls, which included two fours and a brilliant six. This is the second highest score by an Indian batting at number 11 against Australia. He troubled the Kangaroo bowlers a lot. After saving the follow-on, he hit a six over deep mid-wicket off Australian captain Pat Cummins. Akash Deep and Bumrah built a crucial partnership of 47 runs for the 10th wicket. Bumrah scored 10 runs in 38 balls and remained unbeaten.

In the first two Test matches, Akash Deep was not part of the playing XI and was replaced by Harshit Rana. In the first innings of the Gabba Test, Akash Deep took just one wicket, but after his batting, his confidence increased and he took two more wickets on the last day.
