The year 2024 proved out to be the year of retirement as many legendary cricketers said goodbye to cricket. The latest name among them is India's off-spin all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. This list names the legendary foreign cricketers who retired from one or more formats of international cricket in the year 2024. Top name in the list is James Anderson, who had already planned his farewell. The England fast bowler was given his final Test match at Lord's against the West Indies. Anderson retired from all forms of international cricket on July 12, 2024. He finished his career as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket after taking 704 Test wickets.
The Australian batsman David Warner retired at the beginning of the year 2024. He played his final Test match against Pakistan in Sydney, and retired as one of the great all-format batsmen of the game on January 6, 2024.

Similarly, former Bangladesh captain and left-handed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan announced his retirement from T20 International cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024. He also said that he will announce his retirement after the Test match against South Africa in Mirpur but he could not play this match. Similarly, his Test career also ended.

New Zealand's Colin Munro said goodbye to all three formats of cricket. Similarly, England's Dawid Malan said goodbye to all three formats. Right-arm bowler Shannon Gabriel, who took the responsibility of West Indies for a long time, also bid farewell to all three formats.
