The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick off on December 6 at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. It is going to be a day-night Test that will start at 9:30 am. Before the second Test, head coach Gautam Gambhir has joined Team India, who returned to India after the first Test of the series played in Perth due to some personal reasons. India won the first Test by a huge margin of 295 runs against the Aussies at the Optus Stadium in Perth. This was one of the spectacular wins by the team, as Australia has not lost matches there, and India’s skipper Rohit Sharma was also not there in the first Test.
Gambhir already informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he would be going home and would come ahead of the second Test, and BCCI also approved that request of him. A BCCI source said,
“Gambhir has informed us that he will be travelling back home and will join the team before the start of the second Test. He has cited personal reasons, and the BCCI has accepted his request.”
Rohit Sharma has also joined the Indian team, who missed the first Test in Perth due to the birth of his second child. He did not waste time and was also seen practicing at the nets. He also played in India’s warm-up Test match that took place against the Australia PM’s XI. It was a 46-over match due to rain. Although Rohit failed to score runs, other players played good knocks, and it resulted in India winning by six wickets.
