The Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw did ot get any bids in the IPL 2025 mega auction due to which he remained unsold. After this many former players had their say on Shaw going unsold in the 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. No one at the auction table showed interest in bidding for Prithvi Shaw, including his former franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) . It was maybe due to his poor performance in the last season where he failed to deliver good knocks.

The 25-year-old recently bought a penthouse in Bandra at one of the posh localities of Mumbai. He witnessed a very terrific rise in his initial years of career after winning the Under-19 World Cup for India in 2018 and landed a contract with the Delhi Capitals around the same time. But as early he got success, with the same speed he got a downfall in his career.

Pravin Amre, who worked closely with Shaw has his say on him getting unsold in the auction, opened up on how it is very difficult to make youngsters understand. Many people said that Shaw wasn't able to handle all the frame and exposure he got at a very young age and the glamorous life of a cricketer. Amre also feels that it was the indiscipline in him which destroyed his game.

In an interview, Amre said that three years back he gave Vinod Kambl example to Shaw because he had seen Kambli’s downfall from close. He even said that it is very difficult to teach these things to this generation. All thanks to DC that Shaw earned 30-40 crore at the age of 23, when someone earns this much money at a young age they tend to lose focus. So, it is very important to know how to manage money, have good friends and prioritize money.

“Three years back, I gave him Vinod Kambli’s example. I’ve seen Kambli’s downfall from close quarters. It’s not easy to teach certain things to this generation. Thanks to being retained by DC, Prithvi must have earned Rs 30-40 crore by the time he was 23. Will even an IIM graduate get that type of money? When you earn so much at such a young age, you tend to lose focus. It’s important that you know how to manage money, have good friends and prioritise cricket.”
