Jason Gillespie, Pakistan's red-ball coach, has been coaching Pakistan in limited overs since Gary Kirsten resigned as limited-overs coach. Now the news is that Jason Gillespie is being removed from the post of Pakistan coach. The Pakistan cricket team is currently on a tour of Australia, and Gillespie has also gone to Australia.

According to PCB, Jason Gillespie was offered to become the full-time coach of the Pakistan cricket team, but Jason Gillespie refused to become a full-time coach.

In April this year, Jason Gillespie was given the coaching of the Test team on a two-year contract. It was during Gillespie's coaching that Pakistan suffered a 2–0 defeat at home against Bangladesh. The decision to appoint Pakistan's new coach in limited-overs cricket has been agreed upon by Aaqib Javed.

According to the PCB source, Aaqib Javed was not ready to become the coach. But after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi persuaded him, he agreed to that. After playing the last T20 match in Pakistan, the team has to go to Zimbabwe. New coach Aaqib Javed will take charge of Pakistan's limited-overs team from the tour of Zimbabwe.

Jason Gillespie was given red-ball coaching in April and Gary was assigned the white-ball coaching but after seeing the embarrassing performance of the Pakistan cricket team after the T20 World Cup, Gary resigned from his post. In the ODI series, Pakistan defeated Australia 2-1, surprising everyone. Pakistan lost in 2 matches played in the T20 series.
