“We wanted to follow the good habits, not worry about the result” - Suryakumar Yadav

In the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav said that plans were very clear since the time they landed in Durban. They just wanted to follow the good habits and not worry about the result.

“There’s no secret to adapting to the conditions and situations. Our plans were very clear as soon as we landed in Durban. Last time when we came here, we played the same brand of cricket and wanted to continue that. Though we were up 2-1 in the series, today we wanted to follow the good habits and not worry about the result.”

“Amazing batting skills displayed” - Suryakumar Yadav

The India skipper praised the boys and said that it was very difficult to choose one good knock from them, amazing batting skills displayed by Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Tilak Verma.

“It’s very difficult for me to choose one good knock from them, it was amazing batting skills displayed by them. We spoke about that and they literally walked the talk. When we toured last year, we knew there was something in this wicket once the lights were on and the temperature dropped.”

In the match, India won the toss and skipper Surykumar Yadav opted to bat first and the decision turned out to be in their way as the team delivered an amazing performance setting up a good target for the opposition team. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opened for the team, both displaying impressive knocks from their bats. Abhishek hit 2 fours and 4 sixes but his innings ended in the sixth over with 36 runs off 18 balls. After his dismissal, the partnership of Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson destroyed the bowlers, Sanju made his century in just 51 balls in 18 over, Tilak Verma scored his second T20I century in the next over.

The Men in Blue put up a target of 283/1 for the Proteas which they failed to score to that India won the match by a good margin of 135 runs in the fourth and final T20I match of the series, sealing the series with a 3-1 win.
