The IPL 2025 auction will be a goodbye by many players to their teams with which they grew connection over the last few years. Several franchises have announced their retentions on the deadline day. Afghanistan’s star player Naveen-ul-haq has also been released from his IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants.
LSG has retained Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi alongside uncapped players Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. The Afghan star player has not been retained by the franchise, took to social media and pens a heartfelt note about his journey with LSG.
“Thankful for the opportunity and being part of this amazing team for the past 2 seasons. My best wishes will always be with everyone involved in this team in future to the management staff and the guys who were working behind the scenes, and not to forget LSG brigade, thank you everyone.”
Naveen had played 18 matches for LSG across two seasons, took 25 wickets at an economy of 9.16 and became one of the favorite of teams and fans. In his final season with the franchise, he took 14 wickets in 10 matches.
