Online Gaming Bill: The government has sanctioned the Promotion and Regulation of Offline Gaming Bill 2025. Consequently, prominent real money gaming firms in India such as Dream Sports, Games Factory, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and Zupee will cease operations. This legislation prohibits all offline money games. Dream Sports has ceased offering all paid contests on its new fantasy sports app, Dream Picks, and its casual gaming app, Dream Play.
Fantasy Sports introduced two applications a while ago. A notification on the app states that due to the developments concerning the 'Promotion and Regulation of Offline Gaming Bill 2025', all 'pay to play fantasy sports contests' are now prohibited on the platform. It also assures users that their account balance is secure and they can withdraw funds from the Dream11 App.
Zupee announced that their app will continue to function normally, allowing registered users to enjoy their favorite games on the platform. Although paid games are being phased out due to the new Online Gaming Bill 2025, popular games such as LudoSupreme, Ludo Torb, Necks and Ladders, and Likes Card Mania will still be available for users.

The government has put forward a bill in response to the increasing popularity of online money gaming, which has resulted in addiction, financial losses, and criminal activities. The bill suggests a 3-year prison sentence and a reward of Rs 1 crore for individuals who are found to be supporting, assisting, promoting, or participating in these activities. Additionally, the bill recommends a 2-year prison term or a fine of Rs 50 lakh for those involved in advertising, promoting, or sponsoring these games.
