On Wednesday, a large crowd gathered at the school and staged a vehement protest. The parents reportedly damaged the school property in their demonstration. This incident occurred on August 19 at the Seventh Day Adventist School located in the Khokhara area of Ahmedabad. The trouble began with a minor altercation between two students.
During this time, a ninth-grade student stabbed a tenth-grade student following a dispute, resulting in serious injuries. The injured student succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. This led to a tense situation at the school as the victim's relatives and others assembled on the premises, causing a commotion and demanding action against the school.
The demonstrators blamed the school for negligence and declined to accept the student's body until 'justice' was achieved. On Wednesday, the parents escalated the protest by obstructing the road. The enraged crowd exited the school and occupied the road. As the situation deteriorated, the police arrived at the school. Nevertheless, a prolonged confrontation occurred between the protesters and the police during this period.
Ahmedabad Student Stabbed: Staff beaten up by mob
The enraged crowd stormed into the school, assaulting the staff. The parents insisted on filing an FIR against the school authorities and the principal. They also called for the school's recognition to be revoked following the student's murder and for the property to be seized through bulldozer action. Currently, the accused student is in police custody. Khokhara police have filed a case against the accused under the applicable sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation.
