Prahari App: Tired of watching reckless drivers break rules with no consequences? Now, there’s something you can actually do about it — and even get paid for it.

The Delhi Traffic Police has rolled out a new public participation program where citizens can report traffic violations using a mobile app called ‘Prahari App’. The best part? You could earn up to ₹50,000 a month for your contributions.

How Does Prahari App Works?

This initiative is already seeing strong participation. According to DCP Traffic S.K. Singh, more than 1,400 traffic violations are reported daily by regular people using the app. The process is straightforward and doesn’t require any special training.

Here’s what you need to do in order to use the Prahari App:

1.      Download the ‘Prahari App' from the Google Play Store.

2.      Sign up using your mobile number and verify it through an OTP.

3.      If you see someone breaking traffic rules — like driving without a helmet, jumping a red light, or parking illegally — take a clear photo.

4.      Upload the image through the app, including details like the time and location.

5.      The Delhi Traffic Police will verify the image to make sure it's valid and not part of a personal dispute.

6.      If approved, a challan will be issued to the violator — and you’ll be informed.

What’s Prahari App has for You?

This is more than just a public service. The police department has introduced monthly cash prizes to encourage participation:

·         ₹50,000 for the top contributor

·          ₹25,000 for second place

·         ₹15,000 for third place

·          ₹10,000 for fourth place

Many people have started forming WhatsApp groups, dividing their local areas, and submitting violations regularly. For students, job seekers, or even homemakers, this is becoming a source of income and community impact.
