Indian Railways has greenlit the Final Location Survey for a 77.96 km rail line between Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This project, overseen by Northern Railway, aims to improve pilgrimage access and foster economic growth in the Jammu region, showcasing efforts to modernize and expand the railway network.
Taking a significant step towards improving connectivity in the Jammu region and facilitating pilgrimage, the Ministry of Railways has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for an additional new rail line between Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This survey will cover a length of 77.96 kilometers and will have an estimated cost of ₹12,59,17,363/-. This survey will lay the foundation for the construction of this future railway line. The Final Location Survey will prepare the groundwork for the future construction of this important railway link. The responsibility for the implementation of this project has been assigned to Northern Railway, which will oversee the monitoring of this survey.
This additional new line will significantly ease the journey for pilgrims traveling to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple.
