Air Force fighter jet crashed in Rajasthan's Churu on Wednesday. Two people are reported to be dead while two were injured in the crash. The jet crashed near Bhanuda village in Ratangarh district, and the wreckage is reportedly still burning.
There is no confirmation yet about casualties or the condition of the pilot or pilots, or about the nature of the mission - training or operational - the aircraft was on when it crashed.
As per the reports, the plane lost control while passing over the village at around 12:40 pm. According to eyewitness Prem Singh, as soon as the plane fell down, it broke into small pieces and the surrounding fields caught fire. Debris is seen scattered all around. Villagers said that after the accident, pieces of bodies were seen lying here and there.
Police started investigation
2 bodies have been recovered from the accident site. However, clear information about how many pilots were on board the plane is not yet available. Police and administrative officials have reached the spot and are taking stock of the situation. As soon as the news of the incident spread, there was chaos in the entire area. The police have appealed to the people nearby to maintain a safe distance and have cordoned off the spot and started investigation. Any official confirmation is still awaited.
