Haridwar: A large number of devotees on Sunday gathered at the iconic Har ki Pauri in Haridwar and took a holy dip in the Ganga river on the occasion of Ekadashi and offered prayers. Himanshu Sharma, a resident of Amroha village, expressed his peace after taking a bath at Har ki Pauri.

Sharma told ANI, "We have come to take a bath on the occasion of Ekadashi with our family. We felt great after taking a shower. Everyone should take a dip in the river Ganga with their family members. Arun Pratap Singh, another devotee from Faridabad, praised the arrangements made on the occasion. The arrangements here are very good. We are very happy. "

Ekadashi is a day when devotees pay their respects to Lord Vishnu and participate in fasting and worship rituals. The occasion is significant in Hindu tradition, and pilgrims from all over the country come to Haridwar to take part in the holy bath and pay homage to the Ganges River.

Nirjala Ekadashi was on 6 June.

Earlier, on June 6, devotees gathered at Har ki Pauri to take a holy bath on the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, considered one of the holiest days of the Hindu calendar. Pilgrims from all over the country reached the banks of Ganga to take part in the royal bath and worship Ganga Mata. The event took place a day after the Ganga Dussehra festivities, which led to huge crowds on both days as devotees offered prayers, performed bathing rituals and sang religious hymns.

Devotees immersed in devotion

"It is the eleventh day of Ekadashi and its bathing is a royal bath," said Vipul Sharma, a devotee. You can see how many people are associated with this thing, be it our religion, Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma, and I say Sanatana Dharma is not such a big religion for everyone. Another devotee Bhaisaheb Roshan Lal called it a special day for the Hindu community. Lal said, "Today is the bath of Ekadashi. It's a special bath. You receive so much joy from the grace of Shiva. There is a good system of administration, and everything is fine. It's all great. There is security somewhere, that's why there is so much excitement to go. "
