New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a major setback in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) when 15 councillors departed to form the Indraprastha Vikas Party, led by Mukesh Goyal. Several senior councillors of the party have announced to break away from the party and form a new faction. The new group has been named 'Indraprastha Vikas Party' and will be led by Mukesh Goyal.
According to sources, the 15 councillors of AAP will now work under the banner of 'Indraprastha Vikas Party'. The development indicates the formation of a third front in the municipal corporation. Mukesh Goyal, who was earlier a senior leader of AAP, will now take charge of the new faction.
