On Friday, aerial alarms were activated throughout Chandigarh as a preventive action after the local Air Force Station issued a warning of a potential assault, according to an official statement. The Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh confirmed that an aerial warning of a possible attack had been received from the Air Force Station. Sirens are currently sounding, and individuals are urged to remain indoors and avoid balconies.
The Public Relations Officer of Amritsar District has advised residents to remain inside, turn off their lights, and draw their curtains for safety. The officer emphasized that everyone should stay indoors and away from windows, ensure lights are off, and cover windows with curtains. There is no cause for alarm. Sirens will be activated shortly, and another message will be sent once the weather improves.
Adequate security at the airport
Enhanced security measures have been implemented outside the Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport in Amritsar, with all airport operations halted until further notice. Airport ACP Yadvinder Singh confirmed that security is sufficient, and only airport personnel are permitted inside.
