Bihar Unveils 'Gaj Singh' Mascot for Khelo India Youth Games 2025

14 April 2025 Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar unveiled the official 'logo' of Khelo India Youth Games, Bihar 2025 and Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Mansukh Mandaviya through remote control at the programme held at Samvad at Chief Minister's Secretariat today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister and Union Minister also launched the sports song. Along with this, the torch of the Khelo India Youth Games was also flagged off by the Gaurav Yatra Rath.

During the program, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Khelo India Youth Games, 2025 is being organized in Bihar. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will inaugurate the Khelo India Youth Games, 2025 in Patna on May 4. We welcome all the players to the soil of Bihar. The event is an important step towards promoting sports culture in Bihar and encouraging young talent. The event will further strengthen the sports infrastructure in the state and the youth will get an opportunity to showcase their talent at the national level.

It is known that for the first time in Bihar, Khelo India Youth Games, Bihar 2025 are being organized. The Khel Mahakumbh will be held from May 4 to May 15 in five districts of Bihar – Patna, Nalanda (Rajgir), Gaya, Bhagalpur and Begusarai. In this, 8 thousand 500 players and 1500 technical staff from all over the country will participate in 28 sports, i.e. a total of 10 thousand people. The Mashal Gaurav Yatra of the Khelo India Youth Games will pass through 38 districts of Bihar between April 15 and May 2.

The logo of the Khelo India Youth Games is a symbol of Bihar's rich cultural heritage and sportsman spirit. Its orange and green colours represent a combination of excitement and nature. The look and concept of the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, Bihar's mascot 'Gaj Singh' is a symbol of the state's historical, cultural and sportsmanship. The mascot is inspired by the rich archaeological heritage of Bihar, which is derived from the sculptures of Gaj Singh (elephant-lion combination) inscribed on the pillars and temples at Nalanda and Bodh Gaya during the Pala period. The mascot of Khelo India Youth Games 2025 is not just a symbol but a living embodiment of the spirit of a strong, courageous and intelligent sportsperson. The mascot will strengthen the sports culture of the state and inspire the young players of the country to be organized, disciplined and improve sports spirit. Bihar is looking forward to writing a new golden chapter in the sports sector of India.

The emblem of the Mahabodhi Temple and Nalanda University in the design reflects respect for historical and intellectual heritage. Peepal trees, sparrows and Gangetic dolphins convey the message of nature and their conservation. Madhubani paintings and Chhath Puja reflect the vibrant cultural identity. Valmiki Tiger Reserve is an example of biodiversity. The Ashok Chakra and the lion are symbols of justice, strength and historical glory. This design adorned in the map of Bihar has become a powerful symbol of the development of the state's diverse identity, cultural heritage and sports culture.

'Colors of the game! This is not just a slogan but a message of Bihar's sports renaissance, which shows the resolve to put the state on the global sports map. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar welcomed Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya with a bouquet of flowers.

In the program, Additional Chief Secretary of Sports Department, Dr. B. Rajender welcomed the Chief Minister and Union Minister by presenting them with a logo. A short film related to the event was screened during the programme.

Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration and Sports Department Dr. B. Rajender were present on the occasion. Secretary to Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Officer on Special Duty to Chief Minister Gopal Singh, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Shankaran, Director General of Sports Mahendra Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
