Air India Express has started flight services from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport to Jammu, providing much-needed relief for Vaishno Devi travelers. The first flight took off at 9:30 am on March 23, with return flights scheduled at 1 pm. This new service comes amid high demand and limited train ticket availability during the Navratri season.
Exciting news for travelers going to Vaishno Devi from Delhi-NCR: Flight services from Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport to Jammu commenced on Sunday. The inaugural flight from Hindon to Jammu departed at 9:30 am.
As per the most recent update, Air India Express will inaugurate its first flight service from Hindon airport of Ghaziabad to Jammu at 9:30 am on March 23. The return flight from Jammu to Hindon is scheduled for 1 pm, arriving at Hindon at 2:30 pm. Subsequently, a flight to Bhubaneswar will commence on March 30, and bookings for this route are already open.
It is significant that Air India Express initiated a flight service to Chennai from Hindon Airport on Saturday, March 22. On the first day, 177 passengers boarded the flight, while 172 passengers arrived at Hindon Airport from Chennai. With the rise in the number of travelers heading to the mountains and Vaishno Devi temple during the summer Navratri season, confirmed train tickets are unavailable. The waiting list has surpassed 200. There is a rush to reserve tickets at the Ghaziabad Junction ticket counter, with people queuing up at night to secure Tatkal tickets.
Security at the ticket counter has been heightened by RPF and GRP. Simultaneously, surveillance on brokers who confirm tickets has been intensified. It has been discovered that reserved seats are unavailable in many trains until May 25. The highest waiting lists are for trains heading to Jammu and Katra.
Authorities report that both online and offline ticket bookings are causing seats to fill up rapidly. Navratri begins on March 30. As a result, many city residents are planning trips to the Vaishno Devi temple, but confirmed tickets are currently unavailable.
