The weather in Uttarakhand appears to be in a state of constant flux. The daytime sunshine has led to a rise in temperatures across various plains, including Dehradun. However, the chilling and strong winds continue to persist.

Besides the daytime, there is a chill due to cold winds in the mornings and evenings. Additionally, the gap between the maximum and minimum temperatures is widening.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a shift in the weather in the hilly regions starting today, Saturday, which may lead to a drop in temperature.

Increased difference between maximum and minimum temperatures

Dehradun experienced mist on Friday morning, but the sun appeared as the day progressed. The temperature rose by four degrees Celsius within a day.

At the same time, Dehradun experienced a high of 25.8 degrees Celsius, approximately four and a half degrees above the average. Conversely, the low temperature was two degrees below normal, resulting in chilly nights. Additionally, the cold evening winds are causing people to shiver.

Rain in Uttarakhand

The Meteorological Department predicts a shift in weather conditions in the hilly regions over the next three days. Meanwhile, light rain and snowfall are anticipated in Chamoli, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh, accompanied by cloudy skies.

Besides this, the sky will stay clear in several regions including Dehradun, although there is a chance of morning fog.

Chardham Yatra

Administration busy preparing for Chardham Yatra

Conversely, considering the weather conditions, the government has begun preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Inspections in Kedarnath and Badrinath have been finalized. Once the weather improves, reconstruction work will resume to ensure a smooth journey and enhance arrangements for passengers.
