Initiatives under the Education Department's Pilot Project

Constant efforts are being made by the Education Department to improve the standard of education in Bihar. Now the education department has started preparing to register the attendance of students online like teachers in government schools. Under the pilot project of the Education Department, the first six districts will be implemented in Patna, Nalanda, Vaishali, Jehanabad, Saran and Bhojpur. If this project is successful, it will be considered to implement it in the entire state. An order in this regard was issued by Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department S. Siddhartha to the concerned district education officers on Thursday. As per the instructions of S. Siddhartha, initially online attendance of class three students will be made. Under this arrangement, tablets will be distributed to the respective schools. The attendance of all students of class three will also be uploaded on the online e-Shikshakosh portal.

It is also being speculated that with this, a photo of the class will also have to be uploaded on the portal. For this, five government elementary schools (three middle schools and two primary schools) will be selected by the Bihar Education Project Council under the pilot project. Under the pilot project, this scheme will be started from February 10. Teachers will also upload the results of the examination of class three children of selected schools through tablets. Not only this, the details of subject-wise courses completed in the academic session will also be updated at the end of each month.

It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, the Education Department has directed to prepare a certificate of how many children ate mid-day meal daily in all government elementary schools of the state. This certificate will be mandatorily signed by the principal of the school as well as all the teachers present. The directive states that if a teacher does not sign the certificate, he will be treated as absent. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth had given instructions to all district education officers on Wednesday.
