Millions of worshippers are anticipated to attend the Maha Kumbh 2025 Mela. for the safety of all the people, a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a mock drill at Arail Ghat for the preparations of Maha Kumbh 2025. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) NDRF MK Sharma said that the NDRF is all set for the grand upcoming event and they aim to assure the devotees and refugees that agencies like NDRF are ready to deal with every kind of challenge in their service. The NDRF team is carrying out mock drills to deal with any challenge that may arise during the event and their teams are prepared to deal with any chemical, biological, or radiological nuclear emergency.
NDRF is fully prepared for Kumbh. How can we provide a safe environment to devotees? Given this, all preparations are going on. Security agencies are on alert. If there is a challenge related to chemical, biological, and radiological nuclear emergency, we are capable of dealing with it. Our train squad is stationed here with full equipment. We have specialised divers, skilled swimmers and speed boats and are ready to deal with this challenge during the day and at night. We have underwater torches. We aim to assure the pilgrims and refugees coming from outside that agencies like NDRF are ready to deal with any challenge to serve you.
Earlier on Monday, the NDRF rescued a family of nine people who had drowned in the Ganga river here. The family was seen crying for help and when Deputy Inspector General of NDRF Manoj Kumar Sharma saw the clamor, he immediately directed the team to rescue them. The NDRF DIG was coincidentally inspecting the preparedness of the teams at Arail Ghat on the river for Kumbh Mela 2025. According to the NDRF, a mock drill was already underway for a water emergency when the actual emergency occurred. Reflecting the efficiency of the rescue operation by the force, all nine members of the family were rescued.
