Akash Ambani, along with Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani, pledged to work together for the growth of Reliance. He was speaking at an event to mark 25 years of Jamnagar Refinery.
The AI infrastructure that we have started working on in Jamnagar will not only make Jamnagar a leader in AI infrastructure, but will also place it in the top ranks in the world. We have started construction in Jamnagar and we want to complete it in record time in Jamnagar style as we did in Jamnagar in 24 months. Together we promise you that we will make Reliance grow and ensure Jamnagar will always remain a jewel for our Reliance family." This is our commitment to the entire Reliance family, including our parents. Akash Ambani said that in the era of new information and technology, Reliance is committed to making Jamnagar a world leader.
Reliance's Jamnagar refinery, the group's first refinery, turned 25 last week. Twenty-five years ago, on December 28, 1999, Reliance commissioned its first refinery at Jamnagar. Jamnagar has become the refining hub of the world – an engineering marvel that is India's pride. At that time, many experts had said that it would be impossible for an Indian company to set up the world's largest refinery in three years. But Reliance managed to achieve this in a record time of just 33 months, despite the lack of infrastructure and the severe cyclone that hit Jamnagar at that time. Leading global project consultants advised Dhirubhai Ambani not to invest in a desert-like region where there were no roads, electricity or even adequate drinking water.
Several of the globe's most extensive units are located in the Jamnagar refinery complex. He warned that mobilizing manpower, materials, technical experts and every other input in such a forest would require extraordinary efforts. Dhirubhai bypassed all critics and went ahead to fulfill his dream. He wanted to build not only an industrial plant, but also a Nandanvan. Between 1996 and 1999, he and his highly motivated team created an engineering marvel in Jamnagar. Today, the Jamnagar refinery complex houses some of the largest units in the world such as Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC), Coker, Alkylation, Paraxylene, Polypropylene, Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC), and Petcoke Gasification Plant.
