In Punjab, Border Security Force (BSF) troopers recovered three Pakistani drones using "advanced technical counter-measures" along the Punjab border. The drones were recovered from Rajtal village in Amritsar, Punjab on Monday.
These drones were effectively neutralized using advanced technological countermeasures, preventing them from being used for drug trafficking. BSF Punjab Frontier posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on December 30, "In a significant operation today, BSF Punjab troops recovered three Pakistani drones from Rajtal village on the Punjab border, including two DJI Matris RTK 350 drones and a DJI Mavic 3 Classic. "
BSF also shared pictures of the drone on X. "This achievement demonstrates BSF Punjab's unwavering commitment to secure the borders and curb cross-border drug smuggling activities," the BSF said in its post. Meanwhile, according to a press release issued by the BSF on Sunday, the BSF in coordination with the Punjab Police successfully recovered a consignment of heroin as part of its ongoing seizure efforts in the border area of Tarn Taran district.
Based on information received from the BSF intelligence branch, BSF personnel along with Punjab Police recovered a packet of suspected heroin (total weight- 534 grams) from a field adjacent to Palpet village in Tarn Taran district. The packet of narcotics was found wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and an improvised metal wire loop attached to it with two shiny sticks. The communique concluded that credible information and diligent efforts of BSF in coordination with Punjab Police successfully foiled another illegal drone infiltration and smuggling attempt from across the border. Earlier this month, the BSF, along with the Punjab Police, had recovered a drone and a consignment of heroin as part of its ongoing seizure efforts.
