Supreme Court granted bail to Manish Sisodia in the Delhi liquor policy scam case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia. The Supreme Court has accepted the demand for change in the bail conditions in the corruption and money laundering case related to the excise policy. According to the bail conditions of Manish Sisodia, he had to appear twice a week in the offices of investigating agencies. The court has removed this condition on Sisodia's appeal. However, the court has asked them to attend the trial regularly. Sisodia has thanked the court by tweeting.

Sisodia's petition was heard today. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi had put forward Sisodia's demand before Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan. On August 9, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Sisodia in cases related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam. In August, the Supreme Court had granted bail to the AAP leader, saying he cannot be kept behind bars for an indefinite period in the hope of early completion of the trial in the alleged excise policy case.

493 Individuals Testified in this Case

In fact, in the liquor policy scam case, the ED has the names of 493 witnesses in the CBI case. The case involves thousands of pages of documents and over one lakh pages of digitised documents.
