Bulldozer Demolishes Part of Noori Jama Masjid in UP Over Encroachment

The rear portion of Noori Jama Masjid in Fatehpur was demolished this morning.

Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh) , The rear portion of Noori Jama Masjid, which was encroached upon in the construction of a drain at Sadar Bazar under Lalauli town of Fatehpur district, was demolished this morning. A heavy police force, including the PAC, led by ADM Avinash Tripathi and ASP Vijay Shankar Mishra, was on high alert. When the mosque came under encroachment, the PWD had given a notice to the mosque committee on 24 September 2024 during the survey for the construction of the drain. The mosque committee had asked for a month's time to remove the encroachment. In the survey, 133 houses and shops were also encroached upon.

Petition was Filed in Allahabad High Court

After the passage of more than a month, the rear part of the mosque was demolished by bulldozer on Tuesday morning in the presence of ADM and ASP. ASP Vijay Shankar Mishra said that peace is in order. The back of the mosque is being demolished. Noori Jama Masjid Committee Secretary Syed Noori said that a writ was filed in the Allahabad High Court against the notice. The hearing was to be held on December 13, but before that the mosque was demolished, which is a violation of the court.

Lawsuits will be Filed Against Occupants: KDA

Earlier, in Kanpur, the KDA squad had demolished plots and road encroachments in Gangaganj, Panki and Shatabdi Nagar. The squad demolished 27 illegal constructions and cut trees on the plot. Some people protested. KDA officials said that the forest department's approval has been taken to cut the trees. At the same time, he warned that a case will be filed against the occupiers again.

Roadside Encroachments were also Demolished

On the orders of Vice President Madan Singh Garbyal, a team led by Officer on Special Duty Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh along with Assistant Engineers Nitin Bhardwaj and Sudhanshu Srivastava and Additional Engineer CB Pandey demolished the encroachment for one kilometer on both sides of the 24-meter wide road in Gangaganj Panki.
