Partition of Bihar : The heat of Bihar's politics has increased. The NDA reminds the public of the jungle raj of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by talking about development and good governance.
On the other hand, the RJD has been pushing to move away from Muslim-Yadav (MY) to become a party of A-to-Z. Here, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav is trying to bring forward another face of RJD. It includes jobs/jobs. Issues like employment, caste census, reservation are included.
At the same time, Tejashwi's mother and former CM has brought a new twist. However, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is believed to be the brain behind this. Former Chief Minister Rabri has surprised the BJP by demanding a separate Mithilanchal state for the Maithili-speaking people after years.
Rabri has also argued that one-third of the state's population speaks Maithili, so it is necessary to give it the status of a separate state for the development of Mithilanchal. Rabri had also made this demand in the Bihar Legislative Council in 2018.
Lalu wants to defeat BJP with its old trick
This demand of the former Chief Minister is in the news, because her husband former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was against the Bihar-Jharkhand division.
He had said in the House that the division of Bihar and Jharkhand will be done on my dead body. In 2000, there was chaos in the Lok Sabha. The then Home Minister L K Advani was to introduce the Bihar Reorganisation Bill. Through this, the state of Jharkhand was to be carved out of Bihar.
Lalu was opposed to this. In this move, the Congress went a step ahead. The Congress agreed to the creation of Jharkhand state. Here Lalu's political bet reversed. They couldn't do anything even if they wanted to.
The RJD was not in a position to harm the Congress then. On the other hand, the Rabri government was running with the support of the Congress in Bihar. Now it seems that Lalu wants to defeat BJP with its old trick.
BJP's influence has increased in Mithilanchal
In recent years, BJP's influence in Mithilanchal has increased considerably. This is greatly affecting the politics of RJD. The construction of Darbhanga AIIMS has brought Mithilanchal under the influence of BJP.
A different revolution has come in Mithilanchal through the airport, the credit for which seems to go to the BJP. Let me tell you, the central government has recently translated the Constitution in Maithili language, whose impact has also been positive on BJP's politics.
At this particular time, the MY equation of RJD is breaking, so they are trying to bring the people of Mithila into their fold.
Former chairman has also demanded a separate state
On behalf of the BJP, former chairman Tarakant Jha has also demanded Mithilanchal state. By the way, along with Jharkhand, there was also a demand for Mithilanchal state.
However, the demand for a Mithilanchal state in a formal form was raised by BJP leader Tarakant Jha in August 2004. At that time, Tarakant had prepared the outline of the movement demanding Mithila state by holding a press conference.
He had also launched a signature campaign. Former BJP MP Kirti Jha Azad had also demanded Mithila state in 2015. He raised the issue in Parliament. In 2019, three BJP leaders — Gopal Thakur (Darbhanga MP), Ashok Kumar (Madhubani MP) and Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga MLA) — had also raised the demand for a Mithila state.
