NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. V.K. Paul will inaugurate the 'Health Pavilion' of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on Thursday. The pavilion organised by the Health Ministry focuses on the theme 'One Health' which highlights the interplay of human, animal, plant and ecosystem health. The theme aims to raise awareness of the relationship between different forms of life and the environment, emphasizing that health challenges often require a collaborative response from multiple sectors and communities.
"This year's pavilion focuses on the theme of 'One Health' – a comprehensive approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant and ecosystem health," an official statement from the Health Ministry said. By recognising these inter-dependencies, One Health seeks to inspire diverse sectors, disciplines and communities to promote well-being and effectively address health and environmental challenges. The Health Pavilion will showcase the achievements of the Ministry across 19 programme divisions through 39 stalls, highlighting important healthcare initiatives for individuals at every stage of life. Special programmes include the recently launched U-WIN app, which facilitates free vaccination for pregnant women and children, and the expanded Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), which now provides additional Rs 5 lakh health coverage for senior citizens above 70 years of age.
This expanded coverage reflects the government's commitment to accessible and comprehensive healthcare for all. The statement also mentioned that, "Visitors will have the opportunity to attend screening and counselling sessions for HIV, diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The pavilion will also feature innovative establishments such as the indigenous mobile hospital Bhishma Cube, showcasing their design and usability in a real-world setting. This installation allows visitors to see how mobile hospitals are structured to provide healthcare in remote or challenging environments.
A variety of engaging activities have been organized to make the pavilion informative and entertaining for people of all ages. Daily street plays, competitions and interactive games will educate attendees on essential health topics. A dedicated Kids Zone will offer virtual reality games that combine fun with learning, allowing children to explore healthcare topics in an interactive, playful setting. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare sees the pavilion as an opportunity to promote a deeper understanding of the 'One Health' approach. By addressing the relationship between human, animal, and environmental health, the pavilion promotes a holistic view of health, emphasizing these interconnected elements. The 43rd edition of IITF will welcome visitors from India and internationally, giving the Ministry a platform to share its vision for a healthy, interconnected future.
