Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK across the country, is a successful Indian singer. He has etched his name in the music history of India with golden letters. KK has sung more than 700 songs so far. He has been the lead singer in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil films. On Friday, Google celebrated the immortal legacy of a special, Indian playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK.

KK's musical journey

Born on August 23, 1968, in Delhi, KK's soulful voice and romantic songs have made him a beloved figure in the Indian music industry. KK's musical journey began after graduating from Delhi University's Kirori Mal College. Before fully immersing himself in his passion for singing, he thought of pursuing a career in marketing. He found success in 1994, when he presented a demo tape that led to him performing commercial jingles that laid the foundation for his illustrious career.

His ability to convey deep emotions through song left a lasting impression on listeners, cementing his status as one of the country's most talented artists. Tragically, KK passed away after giving the final performance in Kolkata. In honour of his contribution to Indian music, a statue of him was installed in the city where he performed for the last time, which celebrates the unforgettable legacy left by him.

KK Famous Indian Singer

KK received several awards, including 6 nominations for the prestigious Filmfare Awards and 2 Star Screen Awards. KK started his career singing advertising songs and made his film debut in 1996 with a song from Maachis. KK released his debut album, Moment, in 1999. The songs "Pal" and "Yaaro" from the album became popular and were used at school graduation ceremonies. This album proved to be the breakthrough of his career. The song "Tadap Tadap Ke" from the 1999 film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer nomination.
