The release of Diljit Dosanjh's highly anticipated biopic Punjab 95 has been delayed, leaving fans to wait even longer. Initially set to release in theaters on February 7, the film is based on the life of Sikh activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who disappeared in 1995. Diljit posted a note on his Instagram stories along with a photo of Khalra.
The note reads, "We are very sorry, and sad to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, the film Punjab 95 will not be releasing on February 7. "
Directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film tells the story of Khalra, famous for exposing human rights violations during the Punjab militancy era. Diljit will next be seen in Border 2, which began production in December of the previous year. The film stars Ahan Shetty, Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit in prominent roles.
Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, promises to be an exceptional cinematic drama featuring a stellar cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, who will be reprising his iconic role. JP Dutta's original film was a landmark in Indian cinema, showcasing the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war and presenting unforgettable characters such as Suniel Shetty's role as BSF officer Bhairav Singh.
