I've often felt overwhelmed by the weight of my ambitions, yet I still yearn to shine brightly until dawn. Is it possible for Dr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla to become the new foreign minister of the country?
President Draupadi Murmu has recently appointed former Foreign Secretary Shringla to the Rajya Sabha. Dr. Shringla is regarded as one of Prime Minister Modi's most trusted individuals for various reasons. His personal connections with the United States are reportedly strong; when he completed his term as the Indian Ambassador to the U.S., President Donald Trump hosted a 'farewell party' for him at the White House. During his time as ambassador, he played a key role in realizing the 'Howdy Modi' event in 2019, a period marked by the peak of Modi-Trump friendship. Even after retiring, Shringla has been advising Modi on India's foreign policy intermittently. Modi appointed Shringla as the chief coordinator for the upcoming G-20 summit in India. Recently, Shringla was notably part of the Indian parliamentary delegations sent abroad to promote 'Operation Sindoor'. The government is considering Shringla for S. Jaishankar's position.
Opposition's aggressive stance for the monsoon session
The Parliament's monsoon session is scheduled from July 21 to August 21. Signs are emerging that the opposition will be quite assertive against the ruling party during this period. While the united opposition is actively preparing to challenge the government, the ruling party, led by Modi, is focused on introducing a series of bills in the session. Sources indicate that the ruling party plans to present at least eight bills starting Monday, including the GST Bill, Manipur Amendment Bill, and National Sports Administration Bill. Additionally, the New Income Tax Bill might be introduced. The Lok Sabha Select Committee's report, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, could be presented at the session's onset. Meanwhile, the opposition is gearing up to address issues such as the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor, and the Election Commission's Intensive Revision of the voter list before Bihar elections. Furthermore, the government might face scrutiny over US President Donald Trump's claim regarding Operation Sindoor, where he stated he facilitated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The opposition may also pose serious questions about the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Justice Yashwant Verma may have again appealed for justice for himself in the Supreme Court, but it is believed that the House may recommend the formation of a committee to investigate the allegations against him. It will also be necessary for the committee to submit its report within the stipulated time period of three months. The opposition has also geared up to bring impeachment against Justice Shekhar Yadav, but the ball is currently in the court of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar who will hardly pay heed to the demands of the opposition. There are preparations to extend the period of President's rule in Manipur, the opposition can create a lot of uproar on this issue. The opposition has already written a letter to the Prime Minister demanding a special session of Parliament on the Pahalgam attack, but ignoring the opposition's demand, the government announced the monsoon session of Parliament. The opposition is holding several meetings one after the other to corner the government, first a meeting was held at Sonia Gandhi's house, after this a series of online meetings of many opposition parties with the Congress began, in one of these meetings, surprisingly, Shiv Sena Uddhav's party also joined, defying many speculations that it has secretly joined hands with the BJP.
Will this BJP Chief Minister be ousted from his position?
Just a while ago, this unknown saffron face was crowned to the beat of drums, defeating many heavyweight leaders and women leaders, he travelled from the political wilderness to the glittering stage of power. Now his small mistakes have started weighing heavily on him, first a CD of his secret discussion with a female reporter of a channel was heard. Then, troubled by his bad habits, some women MLAs of his own party questioned his uncomfortable behavior in front of the party top. Very reliable sources claim that just a few days ago, a woman MLA of BJP, belonging to a big and wealthy political family, found the behavior of her CM a bit indecent towards her, so she immediately brought this matter to the party top. Sources claim that once when this lady MLA went to meet her CM for some work, CM sahab teased her and said- 'What's the matter, you don't meet me these days?' The lady MLA immediately protested and said- 'What are you saying Sir, I have met you four times in the last few days.' On this, CM sahab quipped and said- 'Whenever you meet me, you come with some work, sometimes meet me without any work too.' This thing and the gestures of CM sahab were very unpleasant to the MLA and she immediately complained about this to a senior leader of the party based in Delhi. Then what happened was that in the next few days, CM sahab got a call from Delhi, he was given a strong lesson, citing the continuously falling graph of his performance and popularity, he was asked to be ready for departure. But dealing with 'status quo' is also a big challenge in the saffron rule.
Sita in the race of ‘Ramrajya’
As the moment of announcement of the new BJP president is slowly coming closer, many new warriors are also seen walking in the field. Like just a few days ago, BJP President JP Nadda suddenly reached Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s house in New Delhi. It is believed that these two leaders held serious consultations on an important issue for one and a half hours, then Nadda returned. A major TV news agency also ran this news, but within just one and a half minutes this news was removed. Now people are claiming that by making Nirmala Sitharaman the BJP President, BJP can kill many birds with one stone, one is that BJP can take the credit of giving the first woman president. Nirmala herself is from Tamil Nadu and her husband belongs to Andhra. With this claim, BJP can also take the initiative to strengthen its saffron fort in the South. Rest only time will tell the answer.’
… and in the end
As a leader of the stubbornness in Bihar, from Bhumihar caste Prashant Kishor, who belongs to the same family, is emerging rapidly. It is said that recently PK conducted a statewide opinion poll in Bihar to gauge the prospects of his newly formed 'Jan Suraj Party'. Its results have given him a new political lease of life. According to this survey report, the vote share of Jan Suraj Party has come to around 6 percent at the present date. Earlier this vote share was being said to be 2 percent, PK knows that the implications of 6 percent vote share are very deep, he is emerging as a challenge not only for Lalu-Congress but also for BJP-JDU.
Seeing the changed wind of the state, Nitish has also become adamant before BJP that 'he should be declared CM candidate before seat sharing', Nitish has refused to accept the 'seating-getting' formula regarding the distribution of seats. PK has earlier predicted that this time Nitish will be confined to only 25 seats. Prashant is also happy that the people of Bihar are accepting him as PK's CM candidate. Instead these days he is being addressed as 'Pandey ji', which shows the acceptance of his caste recognition.
